Avera St. Lukes Location to Consolidate with Main Branch

hcpfcu logoHealthcare Plus FCU (originally Li’l Luke’s) was founded by, at the time St. Luke’s Hospital in 1979.  Both of these organizations have seen numerous changes over the years!  We appreciate the foresight of those founding board members, the many credit union members that came to the credit union because of Avera St. Lukes (ASL) and the support they have given the credit union over the years. 

The board of directors, staff, supervisory committee and even Avera administration were involved in part during several discussions regarding consolidating our State Street location with the Dakota Street location.  The decision by the board was to do this consolidation at this time, based on several factors.

Advancements in technology, including increased protection provided by advancements in cyber security and decreased foot traffic make the consolidation of offices the best decision for the credit union as a whole.  There are several options for all of the services that were being provided at the State Street office that we think will work well for the majority of members who were using that office.  Internet banking via Virtual Branch, Mobiliti (smart phone app), Bill Pay, phone banking, routing through the ASL courier service, our night deposit box and the ATM in the west Avera lobby for cash access are all in place at this time.  We will still answer the phone and answer your deposit and other questions if you are unable to use one of the electronic options.  If you need a money order or cashier’s check, you can still give us a call beforehand and we can have that ready for you.  In addition, we are going to be adding Remote Deposit Capture (RDC)!

RDC is the process of taking a picture of a check, uploading to the credit union and receiving credit for that deposit.  This would replace the need to bring the physical check in to the credit union.  There is a delay which we are estimating will be two days for this deposit to be in your account, but it will give members another new and innovative option to use at your credit union.  Full details of this new product will be in the next quarterly newsletter but we hope to be utilizing this service prior to that time.

While all this happened rather quickly, none of those involved rushed to this decision, nor was it taken lightly.  We feel the timing is right to make the move at this time.  Our tentative date to close the State Street office at this time is September 1.  Stay tuned to office postings, our Social Media pages, receipt messages and our next newsletter for more information.
